Good-bye October, Hello Yayoi
Calendar owners, I hope you have been enjoying your polka-dots! It’s been a busy month for me, so I am late in honoring this month’s artist, Yayoi Kusama. However, my procrastination paid off (as it often does, I must tell you). In the midst of planning this post, I happened to discover this art project a teacher did, and then a kindergarten polka-dot play in addition. It inspired me to grab one of my pumpkins from outside, paint it and put some polka-dots on it, a la Yayoi (because I have nothing else to do, you understand LOL). It was a distraction I ended up loving; I think it sits very nicely on the ledge!
Credits to teachers Mrs. Russo and Mrs. Jackson for the idea!
If you are not familiar with her work, do visit these sites. You will enjoy this artist, I think, whether or not you are as enamored with dots as I.

Finally, you might enjoy this article as I did. It is a picture essay and dated articles in the NYTimes about some people who were forecasted for success, among them Yayoi Kusama, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, and Meryl Streep.
