These are the days.

"Father’s Day to me is not a day to celebrate your dad. It is a day to celebrate father figures and all the different forms they come in. The ones we have lost and loved, the single mom’s out there doing the best they can, the single dad’s loving on their kiddos, teachers being father figures, and so many other people in our communities who do not get the recognition of being the father figure so many kids need growing up.”

-G Bardot

Since I’ve been absent from this blog more than usual, I planned a nice, long post here. But given the Summer Doldrums that have already hit me, it seemed overwhelming to both me and you. So, instead, how about a little each day for the next, oh, five or six days, so we can reconnect and I can share some cool things with you. How are you doing? We in the Pacific Northwest are enjoying long warm summer days…but it’s always a little tenuous until after July 4th. We have had our share of rain this spring (read…A LOT!) and in June - but things are looking very green!

I’ll see you soon with garden updates,

studio news,

and a few various other sundry things, including the two bagfuls of books I got when the library OPENED! Yay!.

It’s become a tradition (you may not have known that before now, so pay attention) to revisit a video I put together several summers ago to honor the first day of summer. Yes…I know…it was yesterday, I learned. Missed it. Missed Father’s Day. What can I tell you?
