Meanwhile, at the ranch, I’ve been amusing myself with these little books. It’s the familiar one-page book format but Carla Sonheim introduced me recently to the concept of spilling all the contents over the pages, and we did so by taking a photo of common objects around the house and turning them into animals or people. You may already know that I LOVE making things out of cracks and blobs and drips, so this was right up my alley. It started here:

which folded into a one-page book…but I enjoyed that so much, I challenged myself to use the same photo to make a new set of characters:
