Checking in.

Hello, all. Checking in on a gloomy, rainy day here. But a supportive hubby, two great cats, my warm and lovely friends and neighbors, and art keeps me going every day, despite an overall feeling of doom and chaos.

#1. Only 99 more to go.

I continue to try to make art daily with a daily drawing, (see below), a daily carving, and, in February, a daily illustrated poem. Beginning on the 23rd, I’m also beginning another 100-day project. To the right is the first of 100. I call these small collages Bitsas because they bring bitsa joys. (Hopefully) I won’t post them all here- thank gawd I hear you whisper - but you can follow me at Instagram for the whole set.

I’ve done two previous 100-day projects, one which I actually completed and one that got me, well, 80 days anyway. Some of them are in the Collections link. Trust me, 100 days for anything is LONG.

I may be taking on too much. If so, I’ll stop something or other. But I’d love it if you’d follow my exploits on Instagram, where I’ll post each day’s work and the daily drawings. (Or will try. IG and I don’t always get along.)

I’m also planning on introducing some new notecards at the shop in March. Stay tuned.

Lastly, despite my intention to (mostly) keep politics out of this blog, I am sharing this with you. It’s very hard to not think about what’s going on today. It is ever-present. And scary as hell.

Steve Brodner has given permission to use his cartoons. There isn’t a one I’ve seen that doesn’t hit the nail on the head.
