I love that it surprises and delights and moves me. I love that it is everywhere - everywhere!

I love the visual, the lyrical, the dance. I am awe-struck at the makers, the innovators, the daring. And I want to have it in my life everyday, one way or the other.

And so I am here, sharing the passion and joy. Putting my art out there, and sharing what motivates me. I hope you find lots of inspiration, interesting ideas, and pleasurable moment as we peruse together the awesome realm of the arts. That is my goal. Stop by often and sit a spell!

Join me in the celebration of the arts.

I’ve blogged since 2008 and it’s All About ArtS.

A peek …

I paint and draw and fiddle around with ideas. I keep visual journals, and I’m not happy if I’m not using my creative brain (we all have one) and the tools of the trade.

Sketches, paintings, visual journals among them…

Every year, a desktop calendar, (#10 coming up) of my artwork, plus notecard sets, travel journals, custom pet portraits, and more.

About Me…

My name is Diane Moline and I work and play in One Red Chair Studio, a sunny room in our home. I live in Bonney Lake, Washington, near Seattle, in the great Pacific Northwest. I am a mixed media artist, a retired educator, a small-business owner past and present, an inveterate traveler, and roommate of Ava and Toby, The Cats, and Bob, The Husband. I’ve built this site to reflect my lifelong love of ALL THINGS ARTS. I hope it reflects my passion for making and appreciating art and artists since I was old enough to hold a crayon. I make a lot of things in a lot of ways with a lot of different tools, and I especially enjoy the variety that mixed media offers. I sell annual calendars of my artwork as well as commissioned pet, house, and people portraits, custom travel journals, original notecards, and art for your walls. (The Shop has details.) I am happy to be living in an age where we can share and enjoy so much art, meet so many artists, and have so many ways to express our own creativity.

The Daily Amazing

It doesn't take much to find something amazing every day. This is my place to share with you the amazing things in ALL THINGS ARTS: artists and creators who surprise us, outdoor and public art that amuses or enlightens us, places and spaces that enchant us..

Artists Who Inspire Me

Classical artists are mixed in with contemporary ones. There are painters, sketchers, carvers, printers, illustrators, visual journalers, letterers, and many who mix their media. Each has a style, a technique, a sense of play that appeals to me and makes me want to play along. I’m venturing to guess you’ll be inspired too.

special projects dear to my heart.

I created this collection of mixed media casual portraits to honor those people whose work in the arts has made a difference in our lives.
